The seals are down here every winter. more some years than others .The past 2 winters were a bit longer so the younger ones come down to feed. They usualy are gone by now ,most of the time after the macks and herring stop. Also up in Great bay this winter some days it looked like you were in Maine , with seals sunning themselves in small pods next to the stink house. When I was a kid surfing in the winter with a full wetsuit. they would come up to you to check you out. Its one of the nice things about the N.J. shore ,we get to see wildlife fron up north and from the south visit us at dif. seasons...Joe R.
