Fishing back bay in SIC Sat. saw a seal in Townsend's Channel show himself several times. Anybody else saw her/him?
PS. wasn't drinking and had a witness with me. Report wise-caught some blues behind Strathmere.

theyn are becomeing more abundant in the are due to the overwhelming food source. I have seen them several time in the back bays of sea isle over the winter. I think that this will bring the big sharks closer to the jersey shoreline

There was one in Corsons Saturday. Seen one near the D.Bay a few times as well.

When i use to have my dock at water level they use to come up on the docs in late winter to come bake in the sun! Very cool animals they are around you weren't seeing stuff hitman!

Im not sure what it was I saw the other night, I'll try to describe it.

At first i just saw a nice wake about 50yrds up stream. As the two got closer I heard the one make a few weird noises. Kinda like a hiss and a light grunt. They swam right on by and under the bridge. I just barely made out part of the head, it was black and might have had a white patch on the nose. Also looked like it had whiskers.

BTW this was in the back, Avalon area.

The seals are down here every winter. more some years than others .The past 2 winters were a bit longer so the younger ones come down to feed. They usualy are gone by now ,most of the time after the macks and herring stop. Also up in Great bay this winter some days it looked like you were in Maine , with seals sunning themselves in small pods next to the stink house.When I was a kid surfing in the winter with a full wetsuit. they would come up to you to check you out. Its one of the nice things about the N.J. shore ,we get to see wildlife fron up north and from the south visit us at dif. seasons...Joe R.

Had a seal try to get in the boat when I was a boy behind the old stink house. It really did stink then so you can guess how long ago that was.

Thanks to everyone for interesting comments. I was just so surprised to see this in May, I maybe could understand it in the winter but not the spring.

Why would that be hitman do you drink more in the winter. Thats when Harvey, the 6ft rabbit comes out too.
