Codey is pond scum, he should not get too close to the water, he may get sucked in. What has he ever done to support any type of outdoor related activity, other than get in line for a photo Op? If you are suggesting that we support this bum, you are way off target. When you get there, ask him who blocked the original pots bill from even see the light of the senate floor. Only god knows how many other initiatives that could be of benefit to anglers and hunters have been blocked by this hypocrits refusal to bring them to the floor. His closest relationship to anything even remotely connected to an outdoor activity would have to be the 90 million he is trying to get from the casino industry to finance the horse racing industry. And he is only doing that because his brother manages a track and another brother is a breeder that runs horses in NJ. Codey is scum, backing any effort by him is tantamount to treason against any hunting or fishing activity.

I never wrote anything remotely close to suggesting that people support Sen. Codey. Regardless of how we feel about him Sen. Codey is the senate president and former acting governor. He may even have aspirations to be governor.

Second only to the governor, this is the most prominent legislator we could have to promote outdoor recreation. His "photo-op" is no small statement, and it is a recognition of the importance of sportsmen and sportswomen in determining elections.

Plus, Sen. Codey is aware that it was the contribution of sportsmen and sportswomen that defeated Sen. Karcher in the last election. Sen. Codey was firmly in support of Sen. Karcher winning her re-election bid and helped to funnel millions of dollars to her campaign.

I suppose he could be very bitter towards sportsmen and sportswomen. I am glad he is taking the time to "photo-op" on our behalf, whether out of sincerity, or out of respect for the unity and masses of outdoor enthusiasts in NJ.

There is nothing in any of my posts about endorsements or support of Sen. Codey - only the benefit of having him bring outdoor issues to the forefront.

And I repeat, Codey is pond scum. Do some homework on him and you will see it. You might want to find out who it was that fought the pots bills. He initially would not let them be introduced on the senate floor and will fight pretty much anything introduced that is not brought along party lines. He is not a friend. And for a guy that is not endorsing him, you do a pretty good job. Photo ops are not support. If you think he is doing this on OUR behalf, you better re-examine your classifications. I reiterate, Codey is pond scum and is using you. He will not now or in the future, support anything that is not in his best interest. My guess is he is there at the request of the Audobon and nothing more. Ant do your homework.

Believe me I have done more than several of the organizations that claim to represent us. In fact, while I won't mention specific names on this board, there are several that have gone out of their way to support pols who, while pretending to help us, have in fact sold us out on more than one occasion. You can throw all the stones you like, I don't think they are going to break any windows.

Thats for me to know and you to find out. With a grand total of 14 posts, I am hesitant to reveal my credentials to you. Come back when you have 500 and I will tell you. I will tell you this, I don't support pond scum. I will tell you that I go after the local pols. Easier to see results.

I understand your point, but by your reply I can see that I didn't explain myself well. So I'll try to do a better job.

Promoting a "photo op" for Sen. Codey, which is directed at NJ citizenry and meant to advance our interests in outdoor recreation and conservation, is not a political endorsement of Sen. Codey by the NJOA. It is merely coverage of an event meant to bring awareness to issues important to all of us: conservation, outdoor recreation and the important role of the Division of Fish and Wildlife to the people of NJ. He chose fishing to drive home the point.

That's it, nothing more.

He chose fishing because the Audobon asked him to. That is my guess. The others involved in this have little or no political value to him whatsoever. Codey is an extortionist. He just stole 90 million from Atlantic City for his own personal benefit and not one media outlet called him to task for it. If you were telling us to attend to grill him on his position, I would be there. I believe that his photo op does more harm to us than good. Here is why. People will now make the mistake that he is a friend to anglers and hunters. Please show me one instance where he proved to be friendly to us. Good luck. Furthermore, you would be hard pressed where he did anything of benefit for the residents of South Jersey. The last thing I recall him doing for us was 750k for open spaces money in Cape May. Care to guess where it went? A parkiong lot for a historic hotel in the city. Scratch the surface on that one and you will see why he did that. Once again, he is pond scum and anything of benefit to him is bad for us. JMO, but I will continue to voice it as I see fit.

Be careful of others as well. I recently attended an affair where our esteemed representative Frank Lobiando spoke. He went out of his way to thank several organizations including the Audobon and Sierra, but made no reference to any organization that could even remotely resemble a pro hunting or fishing organization. He was speaking about open spaces at the time. I thought his omission was somewhat revealing as to where he stands. Sometimes you need to read between the lines. Supporting these assholes for me is done.

CODEY JOINS NJ FISH & WILDLIFE COALITION TO STOCK ECHO LAKE FOR TROUT SEASON

Coalition Highlights Importance of Fish and Wildlife Programs
to New Jersey's Quality of Life

MOUNTAINSIDE, NJ – To highlight the importance of preserving New Jersey's fish and wildlife resources and recreational opportunities, Senate President Richard J. Codey today joined the New Jersey Fish and Wildlife Coalition to stock trout into Lower Echo Lake. The event is part of the annual preparations undertaken to ready the state's fishes and streams for opening day of trout season this Saturday, which marks the time of year when over 150,000 anglers typically head to their favorite fishing spots.

"New Jersey has so much to offer in terms of outdoor past times," said Senator Codey (D-Essex). "I know generations of families that bond over annual fishing traditions. It's these types of activities that make our state so great. I'd like to thank the members of the Fish and Wildlife Coalition for working so hard to promote and preserve our natural resources and the past times they support."

This marks the twenty-fifth year that the Division's Bureau of Freshwater Fisheries has raised over 570,000 trout at Pequest Trout Hatchery for stocking in New Jersey public waters. Including fish production at the Hacketstown State Fish Hatchery, the Division raises 19 species and distributes over 2.7 million fish to 200 waterways annually.

Among those counting on the state's extensive stocking program are Fred Bercaw, President of the Newark Bait and Fly Casting Club, and the participants in the club's kids fishing derby held for three weeks at Echo Lake Park for the past 26 years. Club members have believed in the importance of teaching kids to fish throughout their hundred year history. "Not only are they learning a wholesome pastime, they are staying off the streets and off drugs," said Fred Bercaw.

Protecting and enhancing New Jersey's fish and wildlife resources and recreational opportunities requires a partnership between state and federal government, conservation and sportsmen's groups, private industry, anglers, hunters and wildlife watchers.

"Together, we can ensure that state residents and visitors alike can continue to enjoy the longstanding tradition of fishing, hunting and wildlife-watching as well as reap the benefits of the $4 billion generated annually in New Jersey by wildlife-related recreation," said Joanna Wolaver, New Jersey Audubon Society.

Hmmmm, not to spur on this BS thread (it wasn't BS till you started jackin it Mike), but these stances that every organization and avery politician are out to get us in some way, shape or form left me wondering....

Just who ARE our allies?

If you're going to scream about the problem then you need to present a viable solution.

All I know you've ever done is ***** on a web board Michael. If you have such a strong track record of accomplishments, let's hear it. Otherwise, keep your supposed "Actions" out of the discussion eh?

Ant, you know my advice to you on this thread without me stating it ;)

So what are you saying now Darrin, I am not allowed to voice my opinion. I never said I had such a strong track record, but I do have an opinion. It hasn't stop you from discounting it. And to my knowledge, I never said anything about any actions. You don't like what I am saying, then put me on your ignore list. Pretty simple solution isn't it. You seem to spend a lot of time reading between the lines on my posts. I don't like Codey. Plain and simple. How is that Jackin a thread. The thread was about Codey, I don't think he is a friend and I voiced an opinion. Did I discount anyones actions? Did I say that an organization did not warrant participation? I don't think so. I voiced an opinion.

I don't have a hidden agenda. Are you saying that if I don't agree with you that I must be wrong. I asked your hero a question. Why is he endorsing Codey. How has he been a friend? Show me what he has done for any outdooorsman other than his brother the track manager or his other brother the horse breeder. Sometimes the rotten apple lets you know that the barrel needs further examination.
