The dems will demand some hearings so they can engage in some Godd Old Fashioned CATHOLIC BASHING first

But that is not required. They can just vote on the floor and they should do it. Do you want to see Kamaletoe opinioning her thoughts to the pick? Hell no. I think this is a win for Trump and the R's. It will give the "moderate rs", never trumpers, and the precious independent voters a good choice why to vote for Trump. He is keeping the court leaning right.

Correct.

Romney just announced he is going to vote for Trumps pick. I assumed that he would be a no. Murkowski and Collins should do a Obama and vote present. That way they voted their principle and they would not put in danger to Trumps pick.

I'd pick Barbara Lagoa at this point in time , and save Barrett for the second term.

These are strange comments coming from senators. They don't know who the candidate is, the person has not been vetted, they have not had a hearing to hear to prospective judges views, But they have votes already?

So there is no process if votes have been predetermined. Its just ugly politics. Some of these senators who are committed to vote already are in danger of being voted out already. This may be their nail in the coffin.

The process is , Nomination then senate vote , all the rest is fluff and fanfare , none of it is required.

Now you claim they have not been vetted , well the top to judges in the running for nomination are :

Barbara Lagoa is a United States Circuit Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.

Amy Vivian Coney Barrett United States circuit judge on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit

both are currently sitting on the bench and both have been properly vetted thru the Senate process , no need to do it twice

Last I checked President Trump has posted the names of people he would pick from, so it is not as though the Senate is not aware of potential candidates.

Perhaps this is more of a response to the Dems gambit of claiming that since it is an election year, the nomination should until the new president is in office. Needless to say this is nonsense. They try to claim that the decision by the Republican-controlled Senate not to hold hearings for Obama nominee Merrick Garland somehow sets precedent for the current situation is hogwash. It is the prerogative of the Senate to hold hearings to further a nomination, or not.

Judge Lagoa is one possible pick, She was confirmed less than one year ago , actually just 10 Months ago by the same senators that will vote now , 10 Months ago she was confirmed by a vote of 80–15

would not the same senators that voted 80-15 just 10 months ago have the same confidence and vote the same way again ?

He has enough froth in his mouth and hatred for President Trump that he wants anyone except a President Trump choice. However he will have to keep the froth and hatred.
