Yesterday I had too much cabbage, and too much tide and caught just one tiny tog by the sods in LE. So, today we took half a dozen spot and four eels drifting for striper.

Maybe it was the wind honkin 20+ against the tide. Maybe the spots were sick and the eels the wrong color. Maybe all my past sins have come home to roost. I don't know, but we had just one feeble run off all afternoon. And it wasn't for lack of trying. We worked the rips, the sods, channel edges, the inlet, you name it.

We marked fish. we had birds working around us. we tried more weight and no weight. I tried thinner leaders, flouro, no leader, nothing.

Two days out and nothing to show for it. I'm almost scared to go out tomorrow, something about three strikes....
