Happy New Year everyone!! I wonder if any Barners have had any success with the smart cast depth finder? I've been tempted to get one for my kayak for use in freshwater. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Have a terric season! Jon

I got one as a gift last year. I tried it once in the surf looking for holes and it didn't work. I guess it has to be used in dead calm water. Glad I didn't pay for it

Works good in calm water. Good for freshwater or back bays.

I have a Hummingbird portable (pirahna 4) for my yak it works great. Trouble free and great battery life.

my friend has one on his yak and he loves it.he uses it on the river and some small lakes in the mountains.
