Can anyone give me an update on the crabbing situation in south jersey, sepecifically wildwood cape may area? My niece has been asking to go but I heard the season has been pretty rough, is it even worth it?
I've heard some real good early season reports. You may want to get in touch with Fred Uhlman at No Bone's Bait & Tackle. He is located in the heart of WW and is a BassBarn sponser.

my son and i went out sat morn in the back bays by absecon and crabbed the last 4 hours of the outgoing tide we caught 3/4 bushel of nice male crabs.caught very few females until the last hour. females were let go.all nice crabs and very full. not bad for our first trip of the year. crabs were caught in 2 - 4 ft of water with chick. 1/4's. 35 box traps. also we caught a few pints of minnows for our next floun. trip.we prefer the incoming tide since our spot almost is dry at low tide. not alot of throw backs.we were in a boat . bb

Good to hear some good crabbin reports, although I doubt they are coming from the dividing creek area, Been crabbin back there for years out of turkey point and the last 5 or so have just been a steady delcine down to almost nothing now. Thinking of headin to Maryland this year, see how that works out
thanks for the info...ill check in with fred at no bones in the next week or two to see how things are going...i had seen some pretty bad report in the area magazines and i just wanted to get some recreational reports as opposed to the commercial guys. Thanks again everyone
