Gave it a solo shot trying for tog for the 1st time. With the west winds I knew I was gonna have to stay tight to beach. Started in 25' with nothing chewing. Pushed off to a barge in 60 foot that took a dozen trys to get hooked onto it. Still nothing chewing and seas building. Tried getting my wreck anchor back for a half hour but no luck.
With so many crabs left I wanted to try another spot but didn't want to risk loosing my last anchor in case something went wrong. Ended up calling it quits and ran back to inlet
Not sure if the 42* surface temp pushed them into deeper water or if the 4 days of NE had the water too dirty. I'd like to do 1 more bass or tog trip before calling it quits on my boat before something freezes.
