The Hudson River Fishermen?s Association in cooperation with the Striped Bass Restaurant and Boating on the Hudson magazine are pleased to announce their Second Annual Striped Bass Derby in Tarrytown N.Y. Boaters World of Mamaroneck, NY is also a major sponsor to this event.

This two day event will feature a fishing contest that will center on Catch and Release of striped bass in the Hudson River. The dates are April 17th and 18th, 2004. Prizes will be awarded in the following categories: Largest striped bass of the two day event $1,000.00
Second largest striped bass of the two day event $500.00
Third largest striped bass of the two day event $100.00
Largest two day combined weight of released striped bass $250.00
Largest striped bass released alive?a custom made ?Golden Fishing Rod & Reel.? More prizes have been added.

There will be a Captains Meeting Friday, April 16th at the Striped Bass Restaurant at 8:00 pm. A fishing seminar and welcome party at the Striped Bass Restaurant on Saturday, April 17th from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm. An Awards Presentation Ceremony will be held on Sunday, April 18th from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Striped Bass Restaurant.

Entry fees are $30 per angler Applications for this Fishing Derby can be obtained through several sources: Hudson River Fishermen?s Association, PO Box 421. The April 13th general meeting of the Hudson River Fishermen?s Association will be Mister Hudson River himself, John Vargo. John is Owner, Publisher and Editor of "Boating on the Hudson" a monthly magazine that is the where, when, why and how information source about what's happening on the river. John has also authored a book tilted "Hudson River Stripers The Guide". Which is a complete guide on fishing for Striped Bass in the Hudson from the New York Harbor to the dam in Troy, NY. He is a life long fisherman and has lived his whole life along the banks of Haverstraw Bay, which is the primary winter grounds for Striped Bass. Also, it is just in time for the to get ready for the Second Annual Striped Bass Derby in Tarrytown, NY on April 17th and 18th So come find out some of his secrets for fishing in the Hudson and see Therefore, please join the Hudson River Fishermen's Association on Tuesday, April 13th, at 7:30 p.m. at the Elk's Club Lodge at Spruce St. and Cedar Ave. in Ridgefield Park, NJ. Meetings are open to the public. However, a $2.00 donation is requested for non members.
