I just finished Milt Rosko's The Striped Bass Book. He repeatedly recommends "doubling the terminal end of the line" using a surgeon's knot. The only reason I can think of is in case the knot breaks at the swivel you have two pieces of line connected. This may strengthen the knot. Anyone know?
Also, this book was great. Very easy to read. I tried reading Striper Surf and it was not nearly as informative. Now that I finished two of Milt's books I will certainly pick up more as well as trying Striper Surf again.
What other books are worthwhile to read?
