Sent you an email. I'm guessing over 200 yards with backing.Hey Lotta Sick Days,
How much 20lb braid did you get on your Spheros 4000?
Thanks, Lami

Mike,
I have a 8' 6" conventional rod built on a steelhead rod blank, mated with a Calcutta 250 loaded with 20 lbs. Power Pro.
Russ
I use a 7'6 rod rated up to 2 oz and a Spheros 4000 with 20 lb braid.
I use this setup too on a Loomis Hotshot 7'9" salmon rod, a Shimano Spheros loaded with 10# Sufix braid. Great flounder setup!
It would seem the majority of guys use between 10 and 20lb braided line for there Fluke set ups. I would tend to go with the heavier, just in case you hook something on the bigger size.i was using 20lb braid for awhile switched to 10lb and caught more fluke you can feel every little nibble with it.....just my .02.....
I have used Powerpro or Suffix throwing bait and bigger plugs. But on my fluke rod and my schoolie plugging rod, I have been throwing Spiderwire Stealth for a few years. Got it very cheap this year, so I am trying it on my bigger plugging rod too. Inexpensive, doesn't seem to discolor and fray, soft, and I've had no problems with wind knots. I can't say that about smaller diameters in Powerpro. Haven't had experience with Suffix in 30 or lighter lb. test.It would seem the majority of guys use between 10 and 20lb braided line for there Fluke set ups. Recently I have switched to all Suffix Braid on my spinning reels from the surf. All my backup reels still have Power Pro. I can't say I really notice the difference, except I feel I have more wind knotts with the Suffix then with the Power Pro. (I have been using 30lb and 50lb Suffix)
Whats your opinion between the braided lines?
Lami
Funny, after a season I like the Suffix hands down over Power Pro at 30# and 50#. If I am going lighter than 30# I still like the power pro. Cannot remember a wind knot all season with either.Recently I have switched to all Suffix Braid on my spinning reels from the surf. All my backup reels still have Power Pro. Whaler,Used 10-20# power pro. fished the surf in 25 + wind with no wind knots. just keep an eye on your spool to make sure it stays tight. if you notice it getting loose put a heavy metal on and give it a cast.Reel back in to tighten up.

I did not really notice a huge difference early, and I don't know how to really explain it, but the Suffix just feels "fresh" longer. It looks better for longer too and that may add to my confidence a bit.

Lami, to each his own, some guys like it stiff. I like soft, and, I think that is why I like Suffix more now. Everytime you fish it is like casting a virgin. That it holds its color and doesnt age only adds to the attractment.Hey Ryan
Now that I think of it (Just checked my reelslease
the Suffix line does hold its color longer then the PP. I also noticed the PP is stiffer and easier to tie, for us guys that don't see as good as we use to.
