Think you are right Tom. Caught one in the middle of the night out at the Baltimore Canyon while chunking for tuna. Came as a surprise.

I AGREE WITH TOM G.--IF TOM IS RIGHT UP UNTIL LAST YEAR THE STATE RECORD CUTLASS IS HANGING IN STERLING HARBOR CAUGHT I BELIEVE IN THE WILMINGTON A COUPLE YEARS AGO.

You got it, Tommy...That dem der is a Atlantic Cutlassfish, also known as a ribbon fish. They commonly grow to about four feet, but are mostly known for their bait value, although are prized in Asia for culinary aspects. They belong to the Family Trichiuridae, which are the Snake Mackerels.
