Along with many I have experienced a very hard year of fishin for the striped one. Starting spring of 2003 "the sick fish" started showing up in our areas. Could this the reason for our fustration???? One of many im sure.....I dont post much, but I have been a member for years, and just figured I'd share my thought.

I have had my best year ever of bass fishing. Of the over 150 bass my friends and I have caught I have only seen one irregular fish. The only odd fish we caught was an one eyed bugger that looked healthy in every other way. I do get nervous when I get finned though. I remember reading about the fisherman getting what they called fish handling deseise.
Matt, go back to that stinkey old clam. Good fishing, Geo, ;)
365 STRIPERS THIS YEAR AND ONLY ONE DEFORMED BASS. THEY ALL LOOKED A LOT BETTER THAN LAST YEAR WHEN I CAUGHT 11 SICKLY LOOKING BASS.
Actually down from 464 last year but mostly due to warm water this summer when bite was tough as opposed to last year and cooler water all summer
great numbers bw-- when do you head to fla.
Heading south around Dec 28th for 2 months

JerzyBass,
Here are some of the fish that I encountered
this past Spring around the Ocean City,N.J. area.
After Sending These Fish Off For Research We

Found Out It Was Just Some Type Of Bacteria that
was not harmful to the human touch, but it sure
does look like it hurt these Stripers & Weakfish.
