Those are some nice hoo'..... There were some caught up this way this past summer that were near or eclipsed the 100# mark!

big hoos down south in the bahamas but even bigger sharks.....80wides or better or you are quickly munched....dem sharks love hoos and yellowfin tuners for snacks...

brian, yep, these are big girls.....imagine what a 110# wahoo can do to a 10 # bonito....burp....

looking forward to fishing with you guys in 2010....probably not gettn up there until April at this point with my plate way too full, but will see if I can pop up earlier for some fishing with you, harry, and my other barn bruthers....

ps the sword bite went off the chain this past week but i did not get out....a 600# fish was taken this week....and a bunch of double markers...

how's the inshore fishing been in miami? i am headed down there january 29th-feb 1st. tarpon around at all?

It will be a little early for the big spring push of silver giants but there are always a decent body of resident fish hanging around government cut (the main inlet that the cruse ships leave out of at the southern end of south beach).....if you can catch the full moon this time of year, the shrimp they should be a runnin, and I have had some of my most memorable evenings fishing tarpon, permit, and snookers at night either floating small dollar sized crabs on floats (make sure you use a rigging needle to poke a hole through the tip of the crab's shell on the pointy end before pushing an owner 5'0 through....80' yozuri flouro, with sliding bobber and you should be good to go), or bounce a large flavored shrimp on a bottom round headed jig with a single hook and hold on.....

Stop by crook and crook or capt harry's and they will give you all the info you need.

ps i would hire a good local capitano for an evening drift....you will not regret it....try capt. joe mcgovern or bouncer smith and you can't go wrong.
