Pros:
-closed transom
-extra bouyancy
-handles like a bigger boat

cons:
-closed transom
-engine is more vulnerable to the ocean
-a little trickier to fish around

That is assuming the transom is closed. My buddy has a 20' CC with bracket that still has the open transom. If I were doing it, I would close the transom and oversize the scuppers and would deal with the fishability issue. I would take a full transom with combing pads over an open transom with splash door.

my motor is on a bracket. the only thing , i don't like about is .if you have to do any worl on the water , like a rope or something rapped around the prop . it can be very hard to reach , and if the water is rough even a little dangerous. and my bracket used fill up with water, until i sealed up the inspection plate. on the top.

I never had a boat with a bracket until I bought my Gulfstream. It can be a pain to land a fish but workable. I like the ride and the feel of additional stability.
