I have read for tog hook size as #4 or #5. Is this correct or is the size 5/0 or4/0. The #4 seems small for a fish of this size. If you are fishing on a wreck and also catching sea bass isn't the #4 hook small for the sea bass. Can you use circle hooks. Also what is the best way to tie a tog rig ?

The size #4 or #5 refers to "VIRGINIA STYLE" I prefer to use #6. I have caught TOG up to 12 lbs without any problems. Circle hooks - never! Tog rig, easy and simple. Loop on bottom of line for sinker. Up about 3" another loop for hook. Tie hook with 40 LB leader 6" to 8" and put on loop. You can go to any bait store and buy a pack of hooks and see what they look like. I buy them in boxes of 100 and tie up several hundred hooks during the winter. Tog fishing is tops.

Tog have small mouths. I use #4 virginia hooks. They are a little small for bass. If you want to switch fish, switch hooks. I just tie a loop at the end of my line for the sinker and another loop about 6 inches up to put the hook on. Good Luck
