that s fine. if u r trying for multi hook ups you are going to have to keep going after hook up. which will mean more line out. as the line goes off the reel the drag increases. a spool with half the line out has 50% more drag then tested with full spool.

On my 30tws I use 50lb mono. I have them set at about 15-16lbs at strike. When trolling, I usually have them a little below strike. I would guess between 10-12lbs. When we hook up, I adjust as needed. Usually I wait until the fish slows down, then I push it up to strike. If line capacity becomes an issue, push it up right away. For multiples, just be aware of this line capacity. Like Warden said, you will have to keep trolling after the first is hooked up. I would say that if you don't hook up another within 30 seconds or so, you probably wont. Other's will disagree I am sure, but at that point line capacity can start becoming an issue for me!

we've hooked a bunch of yft by just retrieving the lines when we start fighting the 1st fish that is hooked up.
That is correct. Also, letting the baits hang from the riggers works but most of the time if we keep going trying to get a multiple just leave everything as is. We fish 3/4 drag when trolling on all of our reels so somewhere in the ballpark of 10-12 lbs. on a 50 wide. Can't wait until June!!!!!!!!!!!!
