Now or soon the River crabs start to come out of the mud. A basic crab trap with a chunk of last years bunker or mackerel wil catch a couple. If small (4"), break off carapace & fish whole ... half if large.

My biggest Striper was caught (and released) at the old wreck just north of Raccoon on a double rig with whole crabs. 50" x 50lb. Last weekend in March, 1980. Cut off rig as she swallowed both.
