Any suggestions on the best and thorough way to wash down my truck, after a good night of Surf-fishing?

(i.e. what are key parts of my truck I should not neglect to wash? )

Is my garden hose sufficient, or should I go to a car wash?

What is your process?

I would suggest the sooner the better if you
can to wash it down...Don't Let the Salt and
Sand Set Anywhere on you 4x4......

Car Wash is Cool, But If You Use A Garden Hose
Just Make Sure You Get Under Your Truck..
Spray with a Hard Stream Everywhere You Can...
The Frame,Wheel Wells and the Brakes etc..
It's also good to keep a good coat of wax on
your body/paint too....

If you sit for a while on a misty day, wipe down you windows you might roll down with a little fresh water from a bottle or a cooler. This will prevent the salty mist on the window from getting in the rubber/felt window gaskets and streaking your windows even after you clean your truck

See my similar question in the surf fishing forum. I received a number of excellent responses.

I use a product called Salt-X, I swear by it. You can buy a kit similar to a Miracle Grow plant watering system that attaches on the end of your garden hose. Add the Salt-x solution to the attachment and spray your vehicle down. It dissolves salt and leaves a silicon type protection behind. I run the stuff through my outboard after each use, I swear by it.
