I have noticed over the years that some mighty fine meat gets chucked back in the bay every time someone fillets a big striper ! Some of the firmest whites meat that can can be boiled off the bones for some tasty fish cakes lot of meat on the pectoral fins and head and bones that never gets used just a suggestion that can yeld an extra couple pounds of meat on a 30 plus inch fish ! Tight lines Catch um up !

One bad fall for me --skunks--after 4 trips - I asked the mate to give me a carcass. This bass was a fatty -- with some hefty ribs. Baked it in the oven --FANTASTIC! -Think about IT... when you eat a fish whole you are chewing around bones! One of the finest - meat falling off the bones meals i ever had!
