While the barn was down I did a couple thing.
1. Read War and Peace
2 Put an addition on my house
3 grew my hair out
Was it me or did that take FOREVER!

Got out a couple days/nights this week during my spring break. No fish caught but I can report some things.
Saw alot of bait at a South Jersey Marina with stripers actually feeding on the surface on the incoming. Saw spearing at most spots and saw a couple of sea otters behind SH.
A couple of nibbles for me on fresh clam and everybody I ran into was getting the skunk as well.

Two Questions:
1) When those stripers were on bait, I believe herring, but tiny, at the marina. The water rips through this particular marina and its almost impossible to keep any lure or bait near the surface in the strike zone (the stripers, some nice ones, were coming out from under the floating docks). What would you do in this situation?

2) Do sea otters affect fishing at all? There must be bait if they are there, but are they like dolphins at all where it would be useless to fish the area??

Thanks Alot,
Should be getting good soon and Ill be back at school away from the beach, but good luck.

Ryan,
Thanks For That Report....All Good Signs Indeed...

Your question Concerning the Water Ripping thru
the area you are fishing. I would add extra
weight if I was fishing Baits on the Bottom.
Maybe Float Some Bloodworms or Clam under a
Bobber,Casting Up Current and letting it
drift thru the strike zone...
If Fishing Lures, Just Keep Working The Strike
Zone that they are feeding at as much as possible.
And If Possible try to change your location where
you are casting from to a create different approach to the spot. That Might Work...

Sea Otther's, Yea I would think If They Are
Around Causing alot of comotion it could
spook the Bass.....
