Yesterday I was heading to gss reef at about 8:30 and saw a whale aprox 30' long jump almost completely out of the water about 100yds from my boat we stopped and wathched it for a few minutes it seemed to be feeding. The whale was only about 3 miles off the beach when we saw it. While at the reef we did pretty good with 6 keeper fluke and 8 keeper seabass.

I went shark fishing 3 weeks ago and got nothing but big bluefish. The water was still a little cold I think. I want to try again this weekend weather permitting.

Love that report, heard another report about whales working the bunker pods off of Ship Bottom on Sunday.

In the 80's we witnessed a broaching whale just off of Holgate, for over an hour. Always though whales ate plankton, and was surprised to see a whale gourging himself over and over on bait!
