Did an evening fluke trip out of Shark River on Saturday the 18th. One of my crew said, " I just saw a whale spout near the beach!!!" I said yeah right, and a few seconds later 20-30 feet of the beast came out of the water. That sucker breached at least 3-4 times, maybe 200-300 yards off the beach. Very cool thing to watch. On the fishing front, we ended up picking thru 16 fluke for 4 nice keepers. Most action was in 35-40 feet of water over rough bottom. Tried a lot of different baits, but a plain killie took the most fish.
