I was out with my wife and daughter late Sunday afternoon and from a distance the looked like yellow boats. They were not there on the 4th of July. What are they and how long have they been there?
No Captain Buck that was not it. I just took my gps out and looked at the map. The coordinates given on the attatched chart are different set of buoys. I believe that area is called the Atomic Lump but I am not sure. The coordinates for these buoys are
N 39 28
W 74 12
You can not miss them on a clear day like we had Sunday. I could see them when I broke the inlet on the north cut of Little Egg Inlet.
I saw them also on sunday and they must be some type of research bouys. I got real close and saw no markings to identify them. I did see a letter on each one I think C and D. The only thing i can say is that there is nothing under or in between them. They are BIG yellow cans maybe 10' across with each one having a smaller round ball 100' from it. Im still thinking Rutgers research...
