There were schools of these fish in my marina this summer. I caught this one when casting for peanut bunker. It appears to be a juvenile. Who knows what it is?

I've caught many of them with the cast net, usually with a baby bass or two.
Don't think its a croaker due to the fact its mouth is pointed up, whereas the croaker's is down.
Don't think its a white perch, doesn't have the forked tail.

I would guess a weakfish. Yellowish fins and same type of lateral line formation.

Where is Longcast? He would know for sure.
dont think its a weakfish.

Maybe it is a white perch?
But the tails devlop early.
You can tell the difference between a juvenile spot and croaker due to the tail.
Croakers are more rounded, spot are forked.

Small white perch

Dakota Rob

I said weakfish at first.

Sometimes juvenile weakfish and croaker look the same with the exception of the mouth.
