Is anybody still catching flounder... and where? I tried shark river... nada. A friend said the raritan bay is weak at best. I would like to get a few more for the freezer.

I think he meant fluke, aftermath. An 11.5lb flounder would maore than double the NJ state record.

I caught a 7 1/2 pounder a few years back, and just the other day i was checking out one of my early season fluke spots and caught 7 fish all above the legal size 16 1/2 inches and 2 that were aproximately 5 lbs 25 inches, i hated like hell to throw those back.

I have to estimate it at over 12 lbs. The monster ate a live herring (about a foot long bait) while bass fishing in BB, never shaked its head, and coasted to the top.

Clear water allowed us to see it from way down and it is very, very big. I honestly thought I had a snag on some brush or wood...unbelievable.
