Yup, this is a silly post alright.........but, back in the day when we fish exculsively from row boats with little outboards, we had opinions.

Big SeaRays used to generate big wakes, and guys with the 30 - 40 footers always seemed heavy on the throttle around the little boats.

Of course Vikings used to throw a good wake, the bigger boat, the bigger wake !

So, what boat makes the worlds BIGGEST WAKE ?
Full oil tanker ?
Cruise Ship ?
Aircraft Carriers ?
14' aluminum with 5 hp outboard ?

Only five Solstice-class cruise ships will be produced, and the first one (aptly named Solstice) has just left port for the sea. Weighing approximately 134,000 tons, the Solstice is over 1,000 feet long and can hold 4,350 people (or about 3,000 paying customers). Note that there is very little spreading wake. In fact, it does not look like a wake at all, just foamy water from the water jets. Somehow, at 60 knots, you'd think there'd be more wake.
