I have now registered both my boat and trailer, and I've changed my license to a Class DBoat. I have the boat safety certificate as well. My question is...which paperwork/documentation am I required to have on my person while actually on the water (in the boat, of course...lol)?

I know I need the boating safety certificate or a copy; I assume I need the driver's license, which I wouldn't leave in my wallet unattended back in the car anyway.

I guess I'll also be needing some sort of waterproof bag/pouch to keep the paperwork dry, too.

I keep my drivers license and safety certificate in my wallet and the boat and trailer regestrations in a waterproof box on the boat. The last time I was stopped, the state cop only wanted to see the boat regestration, but that was before safety certificates were required.
