I fish in the Delaware river above the Commodore Barry Bridge with a New Jersey license.

Are live White Perch legal to use as bait?

BTW: Just started catching, All small fish, nothing over 18". Caught 6 last night along with a couple yellow perch, a ****** and some cats. I'm sure the big girls will be biting soon as the river just seems to getting back to normal.

White perch are legal bait. However, even though NJF&G are not aggressive in going after striper fishermen during the closed season they may construe live-lining perch as targeting stripers. They don't seem to have a problem with those live-lining herring in the Trenton area but who knows? No matter what, from now until June 1 be sure to be using non-offset circle hooks for all your fishing.
