The Harpoontang has changed homeports once again. This year the MISCONDUCT will be sailing from Absecon Sportsman?s Center on the Absecon Creek. The Harpoontang will be sailing around and catching all the short fish in the back waters, and sometimes out front, of the casinos. Who else sails from and fishing these waters?

User name says it all. I put in at Faunce Landing. Usually can find me roaming the backbays in a 16 foot Palm Beach, Suzuki 50, no name on the boat. Took the Palm Beach decals off the side. Not sure of your preferences for fishing, but the back bays have plenty to keep you busy. Word of caution, high tide you can get away with mistakes not being in the Absecon channel (stakes). Until you are familar I would stay between them. I know it is not the preferred idea to share fishing spots, but if you want drop me an email and I would be happy to show a starting point. I am not a pro, but do catch my share of fish. Absecon Bay Sportsman is a sponsor of this site, so go to http://www.abseconbay.com/abseconbay/main.html and on the left select "Hot Spots". This will give you a decent map of the area. Dave at Absecon Bay definitely knows the area. Also, http://www.acfishing.com/ has alot of useful information. Give me a shout, always looking for guys to share knowledge with and learn something too.

See you down there Flattop, glad you and Misconduct found a new home. Thanks for clearing the bay of all of the throwbacks & junkfish :D Only kidding.

Nice area to fish, the back, inlet and outfront you can always get out and catch some fish.

I'll be down in the next month or so.

Absecon_bass - maybe we'll hook up sometime.

Weather permitting, I hope to be out on Sunday and see what kind of damage we can do.

Give us a shout if you're out, we'll do the same.

Launch my 18'cc out of Faunce Landing. Absecon Channel has most of the cedar poles remaining from last year due to the lack of ice over the winter. If you have a GPS, plot the channel. This will be particularely helpful in both the dark and next spring before they install the new cedar poles, Good luck and hope to see you out there. Monitoring both 68 and TBB chanel 78.

Oh boy the Harpoontang is moving closer to my area  :D :D

FT I fish out of LEI and venture down your way at times. We'll have to set up a trip to meet outside at one of the reefs this year. We'll show you how to put some keepers in the box ;)

I'm a newbie to the barn, and apparently after only 6 - 7 yrs, a newbie in Absecon, too. My wife and I fish the back out of 'Up the Creek' on a 19 ft. Trophy CC, Siren's Song, lots of places with fish. Have fun!

Jack,

No the TANG didn't get streeted nor drink the county dry. (Though we did do some damage while there. :D ) We're just scoping out new territory and drinking establishments. (We already know where all the small fish holes are located between Cape May and Somers Point, we're looking for new places to catch shorties. ;) :D )

Thanks guys for the intro and welcome. It's always nice to know there are some friends around when fishing in new areas, more for safety than anything. We can read a chart and locate potential fishing spots, but just knowing there's a helping hand if needed takes the edge off fishing a new area.

Keep an eye out for a 24' cc Hydra-Sport with a red canvas top and MISCONDUCT in 10" red and black lettering along the rail on both sides.

Good luck to all out there this season and hopefully see you on the water, on the radio or perhaps in a drinking establishment. :D

Hey DM2,

Just like my signature says "Beware the HARPOONTANG!" you never know where we might end up fishing. We could be hunting in waters near you. Maybe we'll have to do an on the water beverage transfer. :D Hopefully we'll hook up sometime this season.

If you havent already done so, be sure to check out the Hi Point. It's on Shore Rd at the WHP. A purrrty good drinking establishment, with quite good, reasonably priced vittals. I recommend the crab soups (either the bisque or if they have it, the Maryland style). Their prime rib is VERY good too.

Another place to check out is further north on Shore Road. Its Megittagans. Its right accross from the Country Club.
