I read a report about Winter Flounder and decided to give it a try…
I had Bloodworms, Clam Chum, and Mussels.
The bloodworms were useless. I paid 8 bucks for them and threw away all but 2… DO NOT BUY THEM!

Clam chum was a big deal… Also – I would use the mussels as chum – Leave some pieces on the shell – dump the juice… etc.. I fished for 3hrs (I was in a kayak – and I was wet) I would have liked to have 2 bags of chum – I only had 1. The chum was a big deal.
They fish were all over the mussels. You need to keep the baits small – with no stringy tails for them to nibble.

Location: Navesink River. Near Oceanic Bridge.
Time: 2:30 to 5:30 (Saturday)
Conditions: Cold, windy (flags all stood out fully)

Total: 12 Fish – 6 keepers. Action was best as I was running out of bait. Round 4:30 to 5:30 PM…

Good Luck

Fished the same area today and only caught two keepers. Freeezing cold wind. Guess you were on the AH side to block it? Good to hear someone had a good day out there.
