I haven't heard about that but I have heard of some nice cows being caught in nets...only to be released to fuel our imaginations!

The striper season down there doesn't start until mid-April and the tributaries are closed even longer. Was this a commercial netter? That's a big fish. It would break the record by 51 pounds 8 ounces.

these 'rumors' come out every spring ;)

I heard from a guy who is a friend of a friend of a netter down in _______, who had a hold of a striper estimated over 100lbs but got out before we could get it into the boat!

Classic fish tails that as whalerdude said fuel our imagination, hey...works for me!

Last Spring The Fisherman's April 1st cover story was a new worl record striper. The guy supposedly caught it on a bloodworm while fishing for winter flatties. It wasn't 130lbs, though. More like 86.
