So I just really got into fishing in the past year and I dont have a boat, but I want to get into more fish because piers and bridges aren't producing very well for me. So I figured fishing from my kayak would be worth a try. But I have a small kayak meant for riding waves and use in the surf, but it is very stable in the water. Also, its got holes in it to self-bail if a wave crashes over it so I assume i'd get wet using it, but with the water getting warmer that shouldnt be a problem. Id take it out in the bay most likely, maybe off the beach on a very flat day. So is my kayak worth a try?

If it floats its fishable. Yak fishing is a ton of fun. Get out there. Just pack the needed tackle and go. I fished for years with no rod holders and never had a problem. Launching in rough seas was a bit of a pain but once i was beyond the breakers i never had a problem. It makes a world of difference when the fish r just out of casting range.

Ever been in the Caribean? The natives down there sit on a piece of styrofoam with a 2x4 paddle and fish. It sounds like your ahead of them. Go for it, you will love it. Only problem is you will end up wanting more.
