Get a coffee can. Add corn meal, water, and sugar. Cook on stove until corn meal thickens (almost burning it). Once cooled, corn meal will be able to roll into balls. #8 hooks work well. Cover hook with corn meal. Use ultralight rod and reel (4 lb. test) for most fun. Nothing like catching a 20+ pound fish on an ultralight. Early morning hours are best.

Haven't made it in a few years but I use to add Vanilla extract and liquid Corn Syrup to make it really sweet...:)

corn, mix in half pack of jello mix, fill hook , grate got more carp then I can count on that, use c-hooks, they are all I really fish for, best fight of any fish out there, good luck, be safe, watch your rod as they LOVE to steal them in a blink of a eye.

For the river, use worms or crayfish on a 1/0 hook, this will give you a shot at a nice catfish as well.

For ponds and lakes, use whole yellow corn and add sugar and vanilla extract in a bag and let it soak in overnight. If there's a mulberry tree hanging over the water, use mulberries.

Make sure to squeeze the crayfish lightly and crush it up a little bit just so that it does now crawl under a rock and snag you.

I keep it simple smaller circle hook something like a size six then as bait I use canned corn. Didnt think I would ever use corn as bait in million years but it produces. Chum the area youre going to fish with half a can of corn then put as many pieces of corn on the hook as possible throw it out and let it sit. Loosen up your drag a bit so when the carp picks your bait up it doesnt feel the weight of the line. After that reel down and hold on.
