I have couple of reels that still function pretty good but the reverse function no longer works. Is this a relatively easy and cheap thing to fix on a spinning type reel??? If so, how do you fix it???

thanks for the response Bob. I am a complete novice when it comes to reels. Are anti-reverse bearings univeral or do the vary depending on the manufacturer and size of the reel? Can you point me to any links that could display the internal parts of a spinning type reel?

Most reels are different. Some reels are easier to work on than others. We need to know the manufacturers to point you in the right direction for a schematic. I have torn apart a few diawas and they are real easy to work on, Mitchells arent bad, Shimanos are touchy, and I have never worked on Penn spinners, but I cant imagine them being too difficult.
