quantum blue runner gold? have quantum sending me a gold 450 and 480 because i wasn't happy with the old ones i sent back to them. they weren't the gold series. it is supposedly an upgrade. was wondering how is the quality? one person has had to use them? i had problem with neck twist! :eek: :eek:

quantum sucks until you get into the pt series but they arent cheap like the blue runners

I used to work at Capt Andy's in Margate the previous owner used to book 6 hr trips that included a blue runner rod and reel combo for around $70 bucks! After 6 hours of bluefishing for 10-15 #ers only a little better than 1/2 of the combos made it back to the dock "alive"
Stripped gears busted handles and stems broken bails etc. etc. The rods weren't much better :rolleyes:
