Upgrading two of my spinning rods. I am looking at the Ugly Stick Tiger Lite Jigging Spinning rods. I leaning towards 6"6 size.

Using them for striping trolling, wreck fishing, and offshore jigging. The price point is great at $70 and I really don't want to go over that.

Does anybody have pros and cons on these rods?

I have two of them paired with Okuma Coronado 55 baitrunner reels and I have 40 lb braid on them. Nice light rod, has alot of power, nice aluminum gimbal butt. The wife landed a 65LB drum with one two years ago. I use these set ups for everything in the Delaware Bay from croakers to big drum fish. I also have four Ugly stik Custom series rods (all black 7' with slick handle gimbal butts) the spinning rods are nice and all around, the casting/conventional rod set ups are a little too stiff or beefy for flounder fishing. I've trolled with the ugly stik customs out front last fall and they worked great, I wouldn't troll with the tiger lite jigging rod. The tiger lites are nice, priced perfectly too. They're perfect for all around fishing from a boat in the bay to off shore for wreck/reef fishing for flounder or sea bass. I don't like cheap gear but I can't see spending a ton of money on custom gear or even the high end stuff like lamiglass, st Croix etc. To each their own, I use all ugly stik rods, okuma and avet reels and they all catch and land fish. Never had an issue with the ugly stik rods. I just purchased another coronado 55 series so I'm going to get another tiger lite for that rod too. For christmas, I got my old man a tiger lite jigging rod paired with an Okuma Coronado 65 baitrumner- that too is a nice set up.

Thanks for the input. I finally held one today at dicks and I know I'm going to buy atleast two of these. They seem like they will be awesome. I'm going to buy them from Tackledirect next time I'm down that way.

I have three of them . Best jigging rods on the market and they are also the cheapest. I have 80 pound braid on all mine. One has a battle 8000 and the other two have cabo 80's. We bottom fish in 100 feet with drags locked down.

I just got my third one today for $69.99. I held the conventional one too, I'm getting one of those eventually. The reason I got a third spinning jigging rod is because I just bought a reel a month ago and had nothing to put it on. Can't wait to break it in.

The 6'6 one has a foam cap on the butt and when you remove it, you'll notice an aluminum gimbal butt. The 6'6 rod also we has a hook/lure hanger just above the rod handle where the other rod doesnt. Also the 6'6 rod I think has a heavier line and lure rating compared to the 6'0 model. I don't think the 6'0 model has a gimbal butt. Hope this helped. I have 3 of the 6'6 rods. If I can remember, I'll post the model # for the 6'6 spinning rod for you tomorrow.

The model # is BWSJL 220066
And if you ever look into the Ugly Stik Custom rods, the spinning rod model # for the custom rod is USCS 1170H I got both the Tiger Lite Jigging and the Custom Rod and love both of them. Hope this helps you out.
